Department of English
Essentially, the Department of English focuses on the study of English language, literature, and teaching English as second language (TESL). The fully fledged BA (English), BA (Hons) English degree programs cover exciting areas mentioned above. Further, various Diploma programs in English and teacher training provide students with the opportunity to widen their scope in English language skills and competencies. The graduates of the Department of English can pursue careers in fields such as teaching, lecturing, education management, journalism, media, publication, diplomatic affairs and so forth.
Department of Education
The Department of Education is fixated in preparing students for careers in the field of education. The students who are following the academic programs offered by the department study and research on various aspects of education, which include the areas of curriculum designing, classroom management and teaching strategies. Further, some of the academic programs offered by this department are dedicated towards providing students opportunities to gain first-hand experience in teaching, in real life classroom environments. The graduates of this department will be able to pursue careers in the field of education which include teaching, lecturing, education administration, education research and consultation.
English Language Teaching Unit
The ELTU (English Language Teaching Unit) is established to provide training programs for trainers, assessors, and it further intends to provide intensive Maritime English programs for the students who embark in their career in the Maritime sector and various courses of English for specific purposes.
