The mission of the faculty is to maintain humanist ethnicities while enriching the knowledge concerning social, cultural, literary, philosophical, historical,linguistic and educational practices. The Faculty of Humanities and Education at CINEC Campus has been the forerunner and sole center of studies of this discipline in the non-state university context in Sri Lanka. The faculty offers an extensive range of study and training programmes in the English medium. Presently, the Department of English of the faculty has availed opportunities for students to follow UGC/MoE approved degree programmes namely Bachelor of Artsin English (General and Honors) of which the subject combination comprises English Language, English Literature, Literature in English, Teaching English as a Second Language, Journalism and Linguistics. The Department of Education of the Faculty offers Bachelor of Education (Hons.)in English, Bachelor of Education (Hons.) in Biological Sciences, Bachelor of Education (Hons.) in Physical Science and Bachelor of Education (Hons.) in Sports and Physical Education. Also, UGC/MoE approved top-up honest degree programmes, (2 years) for the trained teachers of English, Mathematics and Science are offered by the department with an arrangement of lectures during weekends at students’ convenience. I am, indeed, proud to announce that the CINEC Campus is the one and only non-state higher education institute in Sri Lanka entrusted by the UGC and MoE to offer top-up honors degree programmes in Bachelor of Education. Plans are already in place to introduce new and more learning opportunities for the students in modern fields of study to meet the changing trends in higher education and research in global education scenario. Further, the Department of Education offers four TVEC approved professional Teacher Training Diplomas in English Language and Literature, Primary Education, Mathematics and Science and Early childhood Education.

English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) established in the faculty conducts a variety of ESP (English for Specific Purposes) programmes such as Maritime English, Business English, English for Engineering Studies, English for Aviation, English for Information Technology and so forth. With the availability of novel academic and training domains, the Faculty of Humanities and Education has succeeded in attracting a large student population from all over Sri Lanka. The international collaborative programmes of the faculty include Diploma in Early Years Education and Care accredited with Chisholm Institute, Australia, which adds to the intellectual expertise of the faculty. With an eminent group of scholars and the vivacious student community, the future of FoHE looks lively, optimistic, promising, and credible. The composition of both our academic and administrative staff is representative of miscellaneous skills and expertise in various fields of study. The Faculty of Health Sciences in the CINEC Campus is the pioneers in the undergraduate and postgraduate education in Health Sciences in nonstate higher education sector in Sri Lanka. Our faculty is dedicated to superiority in undergraduate education, health research, innovation and product commercialization. Our diverse specialty in different health science higher education has attracted the highest student population. Health Science faculty is exclusive and distinct in every aspect of required infrastructure, laboratory facilities and highly qualified teaching staff providing an atmosphere to all students to excel and contribute to the pharmaceutical Biomedical and cosmetic industries and service providers enabling for better well-being of people. It has become the Center of excellence, in relation to higher education in Health Sciences at given international standards in Biomedical, Nursing, Pharmaceutical and many other health related professions.
